OUR FARM

In 1894 our Great-Great Uncle Rolla Drake and his wife Orie built up the farm where Shademakers was started in 1991. Although our Garden Center has moved into town, the farm is still home to our landscape operations, greenhouses and production nursery. Over the years some things have changed but most have stayed the same. In the big barn, we still have many of the contraptions that were used to work the land generations past. The land around the Nursery is still farmed today, but by modern methods.

The nursery is still open to the public for a few items not available in town, but by appointment only.
